Background:
Firefly is a community airline which is owned by Malaysian Airline. It was launched in 3rd April 2007, providing new and exclusive routes to various points within the Peninsular Malaysia, Southern Thailand and Sumatera of Indonesia. Aim of the company is to bring communities closer by overcoming geographical constraints, link the world to the communities they serve, and contribute to the economy of the communities by bringing trade and tourism.Many of the areas where they serve: Penang, Subang(KL), Alor Setar, Kota Bharu, Kuala Terengganu, Kuantan, Langkawi, Johor Bahru, Ipoh, Koh Samul, Phuket, Banda Aceh, Medan, Pekanbaru, Batam, last but not least, Singapore
Website Purposes:
Like many other transaction brokers, firefly.com also brings convenience to everyone by having a one-stop booking option and also coming up with attractive prices and packages.
Features:
Besides being a B2C virtual store front which allows travelers to book air tickets, it also provides packages which ties with various hotels in areas where customers are flying to. Serving as a one-stop station for travelers, furthermore, they are able to save more money if they were to purchase as a package.
Designs:
Overall, the web site is user friendly and easy to navigate around. The homepage is packed with all the information and promotions. Perhaps at one glance you will have difficulty finding what you want but the icon to book is always present on the left hand side of the page. So busy people will dive into that function and quickly book a ticket online.

Follow on with ‘flights’, there are many ways we can book a flight. The best way would be to book online. To find out which destinations Firefly fly to, we have to click on ‘About’ then ‘Destinations’. The fares and destinations are clearly listed out. It would be more straight forward if they had ‘Destinations’ by itself though.
Firefly also provides holiday packages for her customers.

Strength:
Seat Selection:
From the online booking services, travelers are able to select their own seats from the seat selection engine. Its not free though, a minimal fee of MYR10 is chargeable for each seat.
Channel for feedback:Travelers are able to share their experiences with others via a blog page which is set up by firefly. This provides an unbiased feedback as all postings are done real time, no editing or such by the company were to be done.
Weaknesses:
There are so far no complaints on complaintsboard.com and the reviews from the customers are positive. This is one of the travel experience of a satisfied customer ‘’ We flew to Kota Bharu in June from Kuala Lumpur for a short holiday. Service was great, flight was great and the plane was in a fantastic condition. Security & Privacy
The Flight/Hotel booking engine is powered by GoQuo Dynamic Packaging. Throughout the whole booking process there is no sign of icon stating that the transaction is secure and private, maybe due to the fact that all these processes are being transmitted to GoQuo.

This makes the whole booking process feeling unsafe and insecure, as private informations of individual are input into the internet.
